As a family run retail shop business established over 29 years ago, we specialise in all aquarium and pond products. We have a vast range of stock including coldwater fancy goldfish, pond fish, tropical fish, marine fish and all the accessories required to keep these fish.

It is our belief that our wide range of stock, the experienced knowledge of our staff and the excellent customer care we offer makes us one of the best aquarium shops in South East England.

On display are 87 tropical aquariums, 20 fancy coldwater aquariums, 33 marine aquariums and 20 pond bays.

Heaver Tropics imports tropical, coldwater and pond fish from all over the world, this enables us to offer a great variety of quality fish at very reasonable prices.

Many of the tropical fish like to swim in shoals of 6 or more so we often do special offers where if you buy 5 of one type of fish you get one free. For example, we sell Glowlight Tetras for £1.25 each or six for £6-00. This is just one of our many offers.

All of our imported fish are first quarantined. During this time the fish are given medication for a wide range of diseases, thus ensuring the fish are healthy and unlikely to infect your aquarium with any diseases. Marine fish are very delicate and these are the only fish that we do not import ourselves, these we purchase from a Tropical Marine Centre where they quarantine the fish for us and we then hand pick the stock ensuring the highest quality marine fish you can buy.

Our recommendation is that water testing should be carried out every so often to determine the quality of water in the aquarium as this can affect fishes health and behavior. At the shop we carry out water testing while you wait. See our in store water testing page.

If your Aquarium suffers from high nitrates, then try our 'reverse osmosis' water which is pure water free from any Chemicals, Nitrates, Phosphates, Chlorine etc. We sell 'reverse osmosis' water in sterile jerricans: - £2-50 per 25 litres for fresh R.O. water, £5-00 per 25 litres for salted. For marine customers we mix salt into the R.O. water for you making it much easier when changing the water in your saltwater aquarium.

25 litre sterile jerricans are available for £11-00 (excluding water) or you can, of course, supply your own containers.

If you have a sick fish that needs isolated care then we have a large quarantine room where we take customers fish in for treatment. We also house customers fish if they are moving house or going on holiday for a long time (this involves a charge).

We also maintain aquariums at customers' houses within our local area.
